Bangkok : Thai Airways will reportedly order 23 aircraft this year, in a move the airline has signalled for several months.
The expected order total was revealed by the Thai transport minister, according to News Agency. This aligns with previous comments by Thai Airways executives to ATW's sister publication Aviation Daily that the airline wanted to order up to 30 aircraft, comprising narrowbody and widebody types.
Any order will need to receive government approval.
Thai said in October that for its widebody needs, it was considering the Boeing B787-9 and B777X, as well as the Airbus A350-900 and A-1000 variants. A split widebody order was said to be an option. The airline already operates A350s and 787s.
