Dhaka : City Bank and American Express on September 17 launched the University of Dhaka American Express Card. The bank has partnered with University of Dhaka, the oldest and most prestigious university in Bangladesh, to introduce the co-branded credit card.
The card, issued by City Bank, has specially been designed for faculty members and executives associated with the University of Dhaka to make their life more rewarding.
The University of Dhaka American Express Card issued by City Bank offers customised services and benefits to suit the lifestyle needs of the employees associated with the university.
Immediately after the approval of the card, the members will be presented with welcome vouchers offering savings in various stores.
Holders of this card do not need to pay any annual fees and they can also get one free Supplementary Card.
The card offers its members attractive benefits that are associated with the American Express brand like Membership Reward Points, Flexibuy at 0 per cent interest, Flexiloan, Card cheque etc. along with shopping and dining experiences with premium retailers at home and overseas.

At the launch ceremony, City Bank was represented by Mohammed Shoeb, Chairman; Tabassum Kaiser, Vice Chairperson; Aziz Al Kaiser, former Chairman and Director; Sohail R K Hussain, Managing Director and CEO; Mashrur Arefin, Additional Managing Director while American Express was represented by Divya Jain, Vice President and Business Head, Global Network Services, South Asia; Kurush P Dastoor, Director, Global Network Services, South Asia.
University of Dhaka was represented by Dr Md Kamal Uddin, Treasurer and Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies. Other top officials from all three organisations were also present at the launch event.
