SIA opens new first class lounge at Changi

Dhaka: Singapore Airlines (SIA) has opened its all-new First Class SilverKris Lounge at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2, completing the first phase of the carrier’s two-year, S$45 million lounge renewal project.

Located on Level 3 near Departure Gate E, the 1,050-square-metre lounge is 11pc larger than its predecessor and seats around 130 guests. Access is available to SIA Suites and First Class customers, Solitaire PPS Club members, and First Class passengers on Star Alliance carriers.

Designed by consultancy Ong & Ong, the space features floor-to-ceiling windows, a new bar with a chandelier centrepiece, and distinct zones for dining, work, and relaxation. Step-free access, Braille signage, and hearing loop systems ensure inclusivity.

A 20-metre-long illuminated batik wall of 97 laser-cut plexiglass flowers greets visitors, complemented by a curved LED display and SIA’s bespoke Batik Flora scent and sonic signature.

The Signature Bar, an evolution of the Terminal 3 Crystal Bar, seats 12 and offers barista-made coffee, cocktails, premium wines, and bar bites.

The lounge’s dining area features favourites such as SilverKris Laksa and Chwee Kueh, alongside live-cooked dishes including XO Carrot Cake and a Hawaiian Chicken Burger.

From November 2025, international dishes like Herb-Roasted Chicken Cacciatore and local desserts such as Ondeh Ondeh Cake will be added.

Drinks include the Singapore Sling, SilverKris Bloody Mary, and wellness juices such as Root Recovery.

High ceilings and chandeliers with 128 hand-blown glass stars by Czech designer Michaela Mertlova add to the bright, airy feel.

Four semi-private resting pods with Poltrona Frau chairs offer quiet spaces, while a children’s playroom with a PlayStation 5 and a nursing room cater to families.

Four unisex shower suites feature GROHE and TOTO fixtures, Lalique amenities, and Dyson hairdryers, with an additional accessible shower room available.

The new lounge marks another step in SIA’s strategy to elevate its premium ground experience at Changi Airport.
