US-Bangla Airlines celebrates 1,000 days

Dhaka : US-Bangla Airlines, leading private sector carrier of the country celebrates 1,000 days of successful operations today, April 11, 2017

In a message on the occasion Mohammad Abdullah Al – Mamun, Managing Director of the airline expressed his thanks and gratitude to all concerned, including regulatory authorities, passengers, all staff members, media and other stakeholders for their continuous support and cooperation.

The airline started its journey on July 17, 2014 with two 76-seater Dash8-Q400 aircraft and with the maiden flight to Jessore. Within less than two years it went international with the introduction of flight to Kathmandu. The airline’s fleet today consist of six aircraft : 3 Boeing 737-800 and 3 Dash8-Q400.

US-Bangla Airlines presently operates to all major domestic destinations and to Kathmandu, Kolkata, Muscat, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore. The airline has already operated nearly 24,000 flights with 98.7 per cent on time performance and carried 50 per cent of the total domestic traffic. Today, it operates on an average 200 flights a week in both domestic and international sector.

Special features of the airline services include online booking system, home delivery, pick up and drop service for the international business class passengers, luggage delivery within 10 minutes for international flights, Help Desk for Wage Earners at the airport, SkyStar frequent flyer programme, 20 per cent discount on air fares for senior citizens and 10 per cent for defence officials and golfers.

US-Bangla Airlines has 30 sales offices within the country and 9 abroad. The airline has over 2,000 travel agents in and outside the country.

The airline already received a number of accolades for their outstanding services, including Domestic Airline of the year 2015 by the Bangladesh Monitor.
