Dhaka: Sriwijaya Air, an Indonesia Airline, based in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta will start its operations to Dhaka by later part of this month. This has been stated by one of the spokes person of the airline’s GSA in Bangladesh in one of his facebook status from Jakarta, following meeting with the airline’s Senior Executives. The airline will operate twice a week flight between Dhaka and Jakarta.
The Airline got into service in November 2003, currently flies to 43 destinations, mostly in the domestic sectors and a few international destinations.
Sriwijaya Air is the country’s third largest carrier, operating a fleet of 32 all Boeing 737 aircraft. The Airline is listed as a category 1 airline by Indonesia’s Civil Aviation Authority.
