Dhaka : China has assured Bangladesh of helping develop skilled human resources in the aviation sector by facilitating training courses as well as extending technical cooperation.
The assurance was given at a two-day bilateral meeting between the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in Beijing from April 26 to 27.
During the meeting, the Bangladesh delegation led by Air Commodore M Mostafizur Rahman, Member, Operation and Planning, CAAB, sought cooperation from its Chinese counterpart to introduce Electronic Pilot Licences (EPL) software and safety oversight mobile application in Bangladesh.
Responding, the China officials assured the CAAB delegation of discussing Bangladesh's proposal with their higher authorities.
Sources said, the meeting helped remove many longstanding complexities related to flight operations between the two countries. This will also help create more jobs for Bangladeshi pilots in China.
The Chinese civil aviation team proposed to increase the number of passenger and cargo flights from China.
In reply, the CAAB team assured of deciding on the issue after operating some regular flights between two countries.
The next meeting between two the civil aviation authorities will be held next year, a CAAB press release said.
