Dhaka : A revolutionary change is coming in the planned urbanisation of Dhaka city and its outskirts. Engr Mosharraf Hossain, Minis-ter for Housing and Public said this on Novem-ber 16 while addressing a contract-signing ceremony on the "development of Jhilmil Resi-dential Park" of Rajdhani Un-nayan Kartripa-kkha (RAJUK).
The agreement was signed by a tri-nation consortium comprising BNG Global Holding SDN BHD, Jianxi Construction Eng-ineering Ltd and Multiplex Holdings Limited at Pan Pacific Sonar-gaon Dhaka in the capital.
Md Abdur Rahman, Chair-man, Rajuk and Dr Sharifah Sabrina, CEO and Founder, BNG Global Holding SDN, signed the deal on behalf of their respective sides.

The event was also attended, among others, by Rick Haque Sikder and Ron Haque Sikder of Sikder Group, a leading business conglomerate of the country.
Jhilmil Residential Park is going to be the very first pro-ject to introduce the Industrialised Building System (IBS) in Bangladesh which will help materialise the Prime Minister's dream of 'Housing for All', Mosharraf Hossain added.
The implementation of the Jhilmil Residential Park will bring about a revolutionary change in the habitation of densely populated Dhaka and on its outskirts, he mentioned.
He further said that, the Prime Minister always says no one will remain homeless, be it in villages or in cities.
"The PM also strictly instructed not to use cultivable land for housing even in rural areas anymore. So, we are taking firm initiative to build high-rise buildings even in villages for arranging more and more habitation in one particular space."
"We will offer flats at a most affordable cost only at Tk 4500 per square feet and if you wish, can start buying flats in the Jhilmil project from now on," he added.
Minister further said, the project mainly aims at reducing the growing pressure of population in Dhaka city through creating housing opportunity for the city dwellers on its outskirts.
He hoped that it will contribute significantly to reducing acute housing problem in the city, developing a new township and expanding economic facilities, mitigating future housing demands and also to delivering an economically viable project in an environmentally and socially suitable atmosphere.
The contract was signed between RAJUK and Malaysia-based Company BNG Global Holding SDN, BNG on behalf of the tri-nation consortium, for the development of 'Jhilmil Residential under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) of the government.
