Chuti resort for eco-friendly unwinding

Dhaka : A few years back, people usually faced the dilemma on how they can utilise their weekends or short holidays. But nowadays people are not worried with the opening of a number of well appointed resorts around the outskirts of the city, making them perfect for a day trip or overnight. These resorts are not far from home and will allow you to make your holidays a sweet and soothing one, by letting you the opportunity to stay close with nature and escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Chuti is a resort and picnic spot, located at Sukundi village on the eastern side of Gazipur Sadar, just three kilometres away from the world famous Bhawal Rajbari or Gazipur Court premises. It is an eco-friendly place where tourists can get diverse taste. The resort provides authentic and distinctive travel experience to holidaymakers.

Chuti resort is ready with luxuries cottages, eco cottages, tent houses, thatched houses, study cottages, bird houses, two play grounds, children's zone, and a beautiful lake with swimming, fishing, boating facility, restaurant, organic foods, fruits, traditional pitha, horse riding and many more to entertain the guests.

During the full moon nights, the authority keeps the lights switched off to give visitors the original vibe of a moonlit night.

They offer seasonal fruits to the visitors without any cost. "We are committed to our guests to ensure an eco-friendly lifestyle with different vibe and taste," said Md Samsul Islam, Managing Director, Chuti Resort.

The resort, easily accessible by road, will take 1.5 hours, more or less, to get from Dhaka. The resort area is 17 acres of green land, surrounded by beautiful lake and reserved forest.

"Since it's opening in 2012, the resort is providing authentic and distinctive travel experiences to the holiday makers. Now, it is in fully operational state," Samsul Islam stated.

"Chuti Resort is ensuring world class eco lifestyle in Bangladesh. This is a four-star standard boutique resort," said Samsul Islam.

This place is open for picnics, corporate day outs, family day outs, workshop and other programmes.

Guests have to pay Tk 4,500-Tk 17,000 for cottage stay per day. Apart from that, they also offer daylong packages at Tk 2,500 for adult and Tk 1,800 for child including refreshment, breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks.

The tariff for conference room is Tk 20,000-Tk 50,000 while Tk 90,000 for picnic.

"Chuti Resort is hereby promoting our country by upholding natural and cultural heritage, which will provide authentic and distinctive travel experiences to the distinguish travellers," Islam said.

"Every weekend we arrange folk songs and BBQ during dinner," he informed.

It has two conference hall_ Chayabithi and Sukundi with all modern state of amenities.

100 seated conference hall (theater style seating) is a perfect venue for weddings, family gatherings and any type of corporate meeting. It also has 100-seat workshop room, 50 rooms accommodation up to 120 persons and eleven cottages, two dining halls, business centre, wifi zone and car parking for 75 vehicles.

Samsul added," Mothers are allowed to enter kitchen for ensure her children's food."

They provide transport facility (on request), special yearly holiday offers, marriage day and birthday celebrations.

Dighir Jol is a Lakeview Restaurant designed with wooden frame, glasses and colourful lights. It's a fine dining outlet for in house guests and special occasion. This restaurant is ready to serve varieties of Continental, Thai, Chinese, traditional Bangla and Indian recipes by experienced chef. The restaurant is surrounded by pond, natural trees and colourful flowers.

Pool Café is ready to welcome you with rhythmic music. Open BBQ, Campfire, Evening snacks, Traditional Pitha, Fresh Juice are available here.

Banquette Hall of the resort is situated near the swimming pool. It serves multiple types of cuisine in special event. If you are looking for a special hall for special party, then Chayabithi can be your ultimate destination.

How to go : At first you have to reach Gazipur Chowrasta then you have to go in front of DC office (Rajbari) by own transport or passenger bus. From that place, you have to move three kilometres to Amtoli bazaar and then turn north and you would find Chuti resort.

The authorities said they will shortly unveil Chuti-2, another resort, in Purbachal.
