: Jaded with land cruises? It's time for you to avail cruises. It's much better than land packages, but Bangladeshis are yet to take to it in large numbers. It's perhaps because of lack of awareness.
Md Zahirul Alam Bhuiyan (Roman), CEO and Founder, Discovery Tours and Logistic, said this while talking to The Bangladesh Monitor about "Genting Dream," the inaugural ship of Dream Cruises.
Pointing out a difference, Roman said, hotels offer accommodation and breakfast, but in the cruises you will be offered six meals a day.
Dream Cruises is the upscale brand of Star Cruises and its 19-deck "Genting Dream" ship offers 3,000 rooms including 100 connecting rooms for extended families and 150 suites. Over 70 per cent staterooms come with private balconies.
There are activities for every generation, for guests to do to keep themselves busy on the ship during cruises. There is an outdoor designated jogging /walking track, outdoor climbing wall with multiple routes of varying difficulties, outdoor adventure ropes course for children and adults.
There are six different waterslides of varying speeds, including one designed for children.
For art lovers, the ship features art gallery with exquisite Asian and international art collection and Little Pandas Club for children.
If guests suddenly fall sick, there is a medical centre too.
VIP guests can arrive and depart by helicopter.
This November, Dream Cruises is offering Singapore Weekend Getaway (Friday-Sunday), five nights' "Island Escapade" to Thailand and Malaysia, and five nights' "Treasures of Indonesia."
Genting Dream has announced its sailing dates from December 3 to March 30, 2018. The five nights' cruises depart on Sundays while the two nights' cruises Depart on Fridays.
Discovery Tours and Logistic offers five nights' packages as well as two nights' packages. The twin share packages includes Dhaka-Singapore-Economy Class air ticket on Singapore Airlines, accommodation on cruises (Inside Stateroom), six meals a day, Captain's Gala Dinner, cultural programmes and entertainment, use of swimming pool and Jacuzzi.
Roman said, Singapore double entry visa is required, while Indonesia visa is on arrival. The ship sails by night and touch as ground in the morning, leaving guests the whole day to explore the destinations on their own or on the cruise company's packages.
