Dhaka : Biman Bangladesh Airlines resumed flights on Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur route from November 2 following Malaysia's easing of restrictions on passenger transport from Bangladesh.
The airline's Kuala Lumpur-bound flights fly on Tuesdays, Thurs-days, Fridays and Sundays at 7:15 pm (local time), while Dhaka-bound flights are operated on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at 2:30 pm (local time), said a Biman press release.
Passenger transport to Kuala Lumpur had been suspended since May 7, due to Covid-19 restrictions, but passengers from Malaysia could come to Bangladesh.
On September 21, the Malaysian government lifted entry restrictions for nationals from Bangladesh and other countries.
Expansion of domestic services
Biman also restarted direct flights on Sylhet-Cox's Bazar route from November 2, according to its winter schedule.
The carrier also decided to increase its flight frequency on the newly commenced direct Saidpur-Cox's Bazar-Saidpur route to two flights instead of the current one flight a week.
From November 3, Biman has been operating two weekly flights from Saidpur to Cox's Bazar every Wednesday and Thursday and two flights from Cox's Bazar to Saidpur every Saturday and Sunday, the release added.
