Dhaka : In the ongoing 75th Annual Conference of the world pilots' community International Federation of Airline Pilots Association (IFALPA), Captain Ishtiaque Hossain, a Commander of Boeing 787 Dreamliner of Biman Bangladesh Airlines has been elected as the Executive Vice President for Asia Pacific Region for the third consecutive term through the Direct Voting procedure.
The Annual Conference is being attended by 550 delegates from all over the world.
Before Capt Ishtiaque, no airline pilot of this sub-continent had been elected even for a single term in this highest professional post.
Besides Bangladesh, Capt Ishtiaque will be responsible for the aviation sector of the Asia/Pacific countries Australia, China including Hong Kong, Fiji, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Thailand and all the other SAARC countries and some Pacific countries.

Captain Ishtiaque Hossain is also the First Bangladeshi who is a full member of US-based 'International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI)'.
