Delhi : Low-cost carrier IndiGo is aiming to expand its international network from 20 destinations to 40 by the end of FY 2024, said reports citing the airline's CEO Pieter Elbers.
Reports also suggested potential routes could include Mauritius and Al Ain.
Recently, the airline also announced that it plans to enter the business class segment and provide business class services on its flights by the end of 2024.
Alongside its international expansion, IndiGo is also focusing on enhancing its cargo operations.
The airline plans to introduce wide-body aircraft starting in 2027 to support increased cargo volume.
Currently, IndiGo operates three freighters and expects cargo to play a more significant role in its business as it transitions to this new phase.
It may be mentioned here, the airline has entered into codeshare agreements with major global carriers, including Virgin Atlantic, Air France, KLM and Qantas.
