Shamshad Ahsan passes away

Dhaka:Veteran airline personality of the country Shamshad Ahsan, a former Qatar Airways Country Manager in Bangladesh, passed away in Dhaka on February 15 due to prolonged illness at the age of 86 years. Innalillahe......rajeun.
Late Shamshad started his airline career with British Airways in their Dhaka office and served the airline for 25 years in various capacities at different stations. He retired from the airline as Country Manager of British Airways in Doha. Soon after his retirement from BA, he was invited by Qatar Airways CEO Ali Al Baker to join the  airline in their head office and  after a brief stay there, he was posted in Dhaka as the first Bangladeshi Country Manager of a Middle Eastern Airline in Bangladesh.
Ending his long 35 years of very successful airline career, he retired from Qatar Airways in the year 2002 and subsequently joined Airspan Ltd, an IATA approved Travel Agency in Dhaka as its CEO and helped grow the agency with professional excellence. Incidentally, he lost his wife a few weeks earlier of his departure. Shamshad Ahsan left his only son, who stays in London and a host of friends, relatives and well wishers to mourn his death.
