Bangkok : Flag carrier of Thailand Thai Airways and national carrier of Bahrain Gulf Air have expanded their partnership to offer passengers seamless travel across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.
Through the enhanced codeshare agreement, travellers can enjoy more destinations than ever before, said a release. Earlier, the two airlines earlier collaborated only on routes between Bangkok and Manama, the capital of Bahrain, and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
However, now THAI passengers have access to Gulf Air-operated flights to cities like Cairo, Kuwait City, Amman, Casablanca, Athens and Manchester via Bahrain.
Meanwhile, Gulf Air passengers can easily connect to Thai destinations like Chiang Rai, Udon Thani, Krabi and international spots like Sydney and Denpasar.
This partnership reaffirms the airlines' commitment to providing greater choice, convenience and an enriched travel experience for their customers, added the release.
Thai Airways expects an increased revenue stream after adding more code-shared destinations with Gulf Air. Thai Airways said the new destinations would "generate new revenue approach opportunities for the company".
Under the fresh agreement, THAI flies to six new cities by taking passengers to Bahrain and they continue the journey by Gulf Air. Bahrain is the home base of the Middle East airline. On the other hand, Gulf Air flies to Bangkok, where it transfers travellers to other Thai cities and to Hong Kong, Singapore and Melbourne to THAI.
