Dubai : Flydubai is planning to expand its network to Southeast Asia launching daily flights to Thailand's Krabi and Myanmar's Yangon from December 10, announced the Dubai-based carrier on August 1.

The new daily flights, codeshared with Emirates, will be operated from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB), the airline also informed. Business Class return fares from Dubai to Yangon/Krabi start at AED 7,000 (USD 1906) while Economy Class return fares start at AED 2,000/2,700 (USD 545/735) respectively.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO, Flydubai said, "We are proud to see the Flydubai network expand further east today with the launch of flights to Krabi and Yangon. Over the past 10 years we have remained committed to opening up underserved markets."

Krabi International Airport (KBV) not only allows access to Krabi province in southern Thailand but also serves as a doorway to neighbouring regions like Malaysia and Singapore.

With the launch of the daily service, which is operated via a stop in Myanmar's Yangon, Flydubai claims to be the first UAE national carrier to offer flights to Krabi. It is a popular holiday destination for beach goers and adventurers alike while, as the largest city in Myanmar, Yangon is known for its mix of colonial architecture and a modern high-rise skyline combined with traditional pagodas.
