'Novin's Aroma Women's Freedom Award 2019'

Dhaka : Novin's Aroma organised "Novin's Aroma Women's Freedom Award 2019" to mark the International Women's Day, which was held at Banani Notre Dame Club on March 3.

Aroma Skin Specialist Amina Haque was the initiator of the programme as she wanted to acknowledge the contribution of women for the nation.

A total of 10 women were honoured in two categories for their contribution in their respective fields. Considering their contribution and skill to motivate others, Amina Haque, the owner of Novin's Aroma honoured them.

Amina Haque is a simple, yet an incredible entrepreneur who had already thrived in her field but at the same time she tries to leave a legacy so that others can be motivated.

The first step towards it was to honour the women who strived for excellence and established them in the society as well as contribute for the country. Initially in this ceremony this organisation honoured successful entrepreneurs who became successful in their sectors and journalists who made a positive impact on the society with their reports and features.

Farida Yasmin, General Secretary of National Press Club and Mohosina Reza, Chairman of Inner Wheel District 345 were present to grace the occasion.

Amina said, "I selected those women who are doing well in their respective sections with their own personalities and I think they are an inspiration for females all over the country."

Advocate Alena Akhter Khan, a dedicated lawyer, is a devoted human rights worker too. She is also a regular contributor to print media since she writes on issues of public awareness on misinterpretation of laws, superstitions, injustice and power abuse. She is an Independent Director of Golden Harvest Agro Industries Limited and an illuminating star in the domain of human rights.

Zobera Rahman Linu is a famous Bangladeshi table tennis player. She is the only Bangladeshi sports woman to have her name listed in the Guinness Book of world record. Linu is a national goodwill Ambassador in Bangladesh working for UNICEF. She is an inspiration to sports girls.

Audience-admired Aruna Biswas is a stage and film actress in Bangladeshi television and won many hearts by her splendid acting. She was hugely popular in the era of 80's and 90's when television drama and Bangla film were the only source of entertainment of Bangladeshi people. She is the inspiration for women who are working in the film sector and interested in film industry.

Nazma Masud Parul, Vice-President of Association of Women Entrepreneur (AWE), is the president of women's Empowerment Organization which always encourages Bengali women entrepreneur who are doing their business. She is the motivator for the women who are growing up an entrepreneur or has small entrepreneurship.

Tahera Wahid, is an entrepreneur involved in many social work organisation. She is a director of Triune group of companies and travel agency Airspan Ltd and chairperson of Interface communication. She is the member of Dhaka Business of professional women club, Dhaka Ladies Club, women's Voluntary Association. She is involved with International women's organisation Inner Wheel from 1991 and now she is a charted president. She is the best inspiration of social worker and entrepreneur women.

Shahneoaz Kakoli is a Bangladeshi film, theatre and telefilm director. She made her debut as a director in big screens with the film Uttarer Sur which has been screened in different international film festivals like- Goa International Film Festival, Kolkata International Film Festival (2012), Third Eye Mumbai Film Festival (in Mumbai).she is an innovative inspiration for this section women.

Lipi Khandokar, a renowned women designer and Managing Director of popular Fashion house Bibiana catering to stylish Bengali women. She always involved in making traditional Bangladeshi wear like hand embroidery. Embroidery products, the motifs are all related to our traditional culture. She also works on fusion but never leaves the traditional creativity which is Bibiana's signature design. She is inspiration for upcoming designer.

Amina Haque also honored those in special category who is working in different newspaper and television channel as journalist. The female journalists are Labonno Lipi, Farzana Shova and Mohsena Laiju who thrived in the reporting sector with good report in the sectors like-lifestyle, political, health, Human rights, and development.
