Burc Tuncel brings innovation to The Westin Dhaka

Dhaka : M Burc Tuncel, Phd, Executive Chef, The Westin Dhaka, has been in city for only about two months, but has already brought in innovation to The Westin Dhaka.

Tuncel has established a vegan corner at Seasonal Tastes. He also set up a Turkish delicacy station, a fresh bread station and made innovative changes in the culinary preparation process.

Diners' response to the changes has been amazing, a hotel Associate said.

Tuncel said, "I still cook from simple burger to fine dining."

Before taking up his present assignment, Tuncel was Executive Chef at Wyndham Garden Manama, Hilton Corniche Alexandria, Sheraton Tower Bratislava, Sheraton Towers Tirana and Sheraton Towers Oman.

A Ph D from British Columbia University in Food Science and Philosophy, he has won over 60 medals in several international culinary competitions including Culinary Olympics.

Tuncel was a judge at MasterChef UK and MasterChef EU, worked at two Michelin-starred restaurants and served celebrities including Jack Nicholson.
