Egyptair announces scheduled flights to Dhaka from November

Dhaka: The state-owned carrier Egyptair is ready to begin its regular flight operations to Dhaka, Bangladesh in November. The airline initially plans to operate two weekly flights between Dhaka and Cairo.

To celebrate the beginning of bilateral air connectivity between Egypt and Bangladesh, the embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in association with Egyptair, Air Cairo and ALO Dhaka Aviation arranged a ceremony for local media and different stakeholders, including travel and tour operators, business elites, among others, at InterContinental Dhaka in the capital on September 11.

Addressing the conference, Hytham Gobashy, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, said, “The inauguration of Egyptair in Bangladesh is a milestone in the bilateral relations between our two brotherly nations.”

“As Egyptair commences its direct flights between Dhaka and Cairo, it will offer a great opportunity for different stakeholders intending to visit Egypt, Europe, and North America via Egyptair, and would definitely reflect exchanging businesses, cargos, hosting Bangladeshi students in Egyptian universities and tourists who would come to explore the multifaceted Egyptian tourism,” he opined.

The envoy highlighting his country as the cradle of modern civilization, said, “Egypt and Egyptair welcome tourists and passengers from Bangladesh to enjoy the Egyptian hospitality and various cultural heritage.”

He also talked about means of enhancing bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Egypt through trade, tourism and investment.

Egypt ambassador thanked the coordinated efforts from Bangladesh, both private and public sector, to push forward with a remarkable achievement that highlights the fruitful cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The conference was also addressed by Syed Ali Samy, Founder, CEO and Director and Farhad Hossain, Executive Director and COO, ALO Dhaka Aviation, General Sales Agent of Egyptair in Bangladesh, among others.

Egyptair is the flag carrier of Egypt. The airline is headquartered at Cairo International Airport, its main hub. With a fleet of 69 modern aircraft, the airline operates scheduled passenger and freight services to over 80 destinations in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Egyptair is a member of the Star Alliance. It has subsidiaries like Air Cargo, Air Sinai, Egyptair Cargo, and Smart Aviation Company.
