Int’l fair in Dhaka to revive country’s tourism in post pandemic

Dhaka: In an effort to revive and mobilize the country’s tourism industry following the gradual development of the country’s coronavirus situation, premier travel trade publication The Bangladesh Monitor will hold the 17th edition of Dhaka Travel Mart (DTM) in the capital on March 10, 2022. The international tourism fair will take place from March 10-12 at the ballroom of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.

About the fair, Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor of The Bangladesh Monitor, said, “Tourism worldwide has been devastated by the coronavirus pandemic. Like other countries, Bangladesh, too, must take steps immediately to rebound from the crisis.”

“There are now more opportunities for regional cooperation in the new normal era. And to benefit from these new potentials, all concerned must make concerted efforts at this moment,” he added.

The Editor of the premier publication hoped, various local and international tourism organizations will participate in the fair. Local and international tour operators as well as representatives of several national and foreign tourism bodies participating in the fair, through discussions, will increase cooperation among each other to bolster the regional tourism industry.

To note, The Bangladesh Monitor first organized the international Dhaka Travel Mart in 2002. Ever since, the premier tourism publication has been holding the fair every year, except in 2020 over coronavirus concerns.
