The Bangladesh government has decided to reopen almost all land ports with India on September 19 (Sunday). On that day, a total of 10 land ports will operate their normal activities from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Everyone except tourists will be able to enter through the ports and no no-objection certificate will be required to enter Bangladesh, said the sources of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"We have decided to reopen the land ports as the coronavirus pandemic situation in the two countries has improved," said Foreign Ministry Secretary (East) Mashfi bint Sams.
Five ports along the India-Bangladesh frontiers were open from earlier. Five more ports will open from Sunday.
Earlier in April this year, the Bangladesh government closed the land ports along the India-Bangladesh frontiers as a precautionary measure against Covid-19.
