Dhaka: Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh on June 10 demanded that the government reopen tourism destinations for travellers and provide tour operators with incentive packages to help them recover from the huge losses they incurred during the Covid-19 period.
They said that the government should reopen tourism businesses and allow visitors to tourist spots to save lives of 45,000 people involved in the sector.
The association’s four other demands included an incentive package for 787 tour operators to recover from the huge losses caused by the Covid-19 situation, waiver for trade license renewal fees in 2022, vaccination for all tour operators and establishment of a separate ministry for tourism.
The association’s president Md Rafeeuzzaman came up with the demands at a press conference held at the National Press Club in Dhaka.
