Dhaka: “Akashbeena,” the first B787 Dreamliner aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) to a water cannon salute at 5:19 pm Sunday.
The aircraft came to Dhaka flying for 14 hours without any break from Boeing factory in Seattle, US.
Air Marshal (Retd) Inamul Bari and members of the Board of Directors of the airline received the aircraft.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the aircraft on September 1. Biman is likely to start operation of commercial flights with the newest entrant to Kuala Lumpur on September 01 evening.
Biman chairman Inamul Bari informed the media that the first Dreamliner B787 will be operated to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur for one month at a promotional price, for check,-recheck, training of the staff and adjustments. After that the aircraft will be deployed on long routes.
