Bangladesh wins Welcome Skills Award in YCO 2019

Dhaka: Aqsa Iqbal, the Chefstant from National Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (NHTTI), Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation has won the Welcome Skills Special Achievement Award in Young Chef Olympiad (YCO) 2019 held in 3 cities - Delhi, Pune and Kolkata of India.

NHTTI is the only national and largest hotel management institute in Bangladesh which is operating since 1974 as a part of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation. Nearly 50,000 trainees have graduated on hotel and tourism from this veteran institute to date.

Bangladesh got this award among 16 categories for which contestants from 52 countries participated.

Young Chef Olympiad is taking place for the 5th time this year which is organised by International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), a part of Indismart group (a conglomerate that operates IndiSmart Hotels).

The primary aim of this event is to create an international platform for the young professional culinary talents from different countries to interact with each other and to display the creative and innovative aspects of developing the profile of Chefs all over the world.

Dr. Suborno Bose, Chairman, YCO global Council, Co-Chairman, International Hospitality Council, and Founder and Chief Mentor, IndiSmart Group is the central man behind this world’s largest culinary show by the young learners.

Dr. Bose is said to be interested to help Bangladesh tourism and hospitality training to grow. For that purpose, it is expected that Dr. Bose will visit Bangladesh to sit with the chairman of BPC and the tourism stake holders soon.
