US-Bangla Airlines adds brand new ATR 72-600 to its fleet

Dhaka: US-Bangla Airlines has strengthened its fleet by adding a brand new ATR 72-600 aircraft which landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka today at 1:40 pm.

The new 72 seater aircraft was formally welcomed by Imran Asif, CEO and other directors of US-Bangla Airlines. The ceremonial was also attended by the senior officials of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh.

US-Bangla becomes the first private airline to bring a brand new aircraft directly from the manufacturer. It started from Francazal Airport, France on March 22 for delivery in Dhaka.

With the new ATR 72-600, the airline now has a total of 8 aircraft in its fleet. Besides the ATR, they have three Dash 8-Q 400 and four Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

US-Bangla Airlines will start operating flights on domestic routes with the new ATR aircraft from March 31.

The airline plans to add three more ATR 72-600 aircraft in phases. This type of aircrafts can fly at a speed of 510 kilometers per hour. So far, ATR 72-600 aircraft have been used by more than one thousand airlines in the world including Wings Air, Finnair, Air New Zealand, Bangkok Airways, Jet Airways, Iran Air, Malinda Air, Garuda Indonesia, Swift Air and others.
