DHAKA: Airlines of the country requested their passengers on July 5 to carry valid identity cards while travelling on their domestic routes.
The airlines’ request came following a directive from Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) on June 30.
Seeking cooperation, the airlines urged passengers – flying Business class or Economy Class, individual, corporate or frequent flyers –to produce their valid identity cards while presenting their printed airline tickets at the check-in counter.
Check-in counters have been instructed to issue boarding passes only after confirming the name of the passenger as shown on the photo ID is the same as that given on the air ticket.
Guests have to produce their national identity (NID) cards while checking in at hotels.
