US-Bangla Airlines carries diplomats to Cox’s Bazar

DHAKA: US-Bangla Airlines, one of the leading airlines of the country, carried 40 diplomats from different countries and some Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials to Cox’s Bazar and back on September 13.

Travel of so many diplomatic personnel together was not witnessed in the country before. All of them went to Cox’s Bazar to see for themselves the huge of number of Rohingya refugees who had taken shelter Bangladeh, fleeing Myanmar.

Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh led the team. With him was Md Shahriar Alam, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Md Shahidul Haq, Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and high officials of the ministry.

Diplomats from US, UK, Canada, Russia, Spain, Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, Sweden, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Brunei, Malaysia, The Philippines, Vietnam, Norway, Qatar, United Aram Emirates, Oman, Pakistan, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Bhutan and Nepal and representatives from UN mission, FAO, ICRC travelled with the airline.

US-Bangla Airlines is happy to have served the diplomats from various countries and its management is grateful for the confidence of Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the airline, a spokesperson of the airline said.
