EEPC India’s flagship INDEE event in Dhaka from November 2

The event to boost trade, investment with Bangladesh

Dhaka: EEPC ( Engineering Export Promotion Council) of India, will be organising India-Bangladesh INDEE, a flagship engineering exhibition at International Convention City Bashundhara, Dhaka from November 2-4, 2017 with a view to enhance bilateral trade, mutual investment, joint ventures and technology transfer among the businesses of the two countries.

Addressing a curtain raiser press conference held at a local hotel in Dhaka, on October 21, EEPC India Executive Director and Secretary, Mr. Bhaskar Sarkar informed that as many as100 top Indian companies both from the public and private sector have confirmed participation at the INDEE-Bangladesh 2017, being supported by key ministries of the Government of India and India's High Commission in Dhaka. The State Government of West Bengal would also be a key participant in the event.

He said that India-Bangladesh INDEE is expected to see a total footfall of aprox. 10,000 trade visitors with most of the visitors being of serious nature in terms of engaging for order booking, technology transfer or joint ventures.

"The fact that some of the best known companies from India, like the Indian Oil Corporation, Power Grid Corporation, Central Power Research Institute, RITES and many more are participating in the prestigious event is manifestation how India wants to strengthen its economic engagement with Bangladesh in a holistic manner. Besides, the bilateral trade, the focus is now on promoting investment in high-tech joint ventures that would include technology transfer". He said the EEPC India has been organising the INDEE series of exhibitions in major cities of the world and this one in Dhaka would be its 37th edition.

G. Sudhakaran, Commercial Attaché, High Commission of India in Bangladesh informed that Bangladesh being a very important trading partner, has been overwhelmingly taking part in the EEPC India's annual 'International Engineering Sourcing Show' with a large number of exhibitors. The way Bangladesh has been transforming its economy, playing to its strength in competitive manufacturing, has been taken note of with a lot of respect and two countries can supplement each other for third country manufacturing..

Senior officials from Government of India are likely to participate in the INDEE where they would also address some of the business seminars on trade and investment. India has been seeking an enhanced level of commercial engagement with Bangladesh and policy fine prints would be shared by the senior government officials with the business leaders of the two countries.

Supporting organisations also include The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI), Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association (BEIOA) and Bangladesh Electrical Merchandise Manufactures Association (BEMMA).

Massive publicity and promotion campaign for the event is being coordinated by India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF).
