NHTTI Alumni host first-ever Re-union

Dhaka : The first-ever reunion of Generation NHTTI was held in style after 45 years of the journey of the pioneer human resource development institute of country - National Hotel and Tourism Training Institute on February 14 at the Mezanine floor of ICCB Hall No -2.

The chief guest of the reunion was Akhtaruz Zaman Khan Kabir, Chair-man, Bangla-desh Parjatan Corpo-ration, Special guests present on the occasion were Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor, The Bangladesh Monitor, Sahab Uddin Ahmad, Editor, The Travel World, Ahsan Ullah, Acting VC, Ibais University and ex -Principal of NHHTI, Zamiul Ahamad, President, TDAB, alumni of NHHTI, Rafeuz Zaman, alumni NHTTI and CEO of Straight Way Travels and Tours.

NHTTI started its journey on 1974 as a unit of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) to develop skilled professionals as human resources for tourism and hospitality industry both at home and abroad. So far it produced 46,000 plus skilled professionals who are currently engaged in the tourism and hospitality industry providing best contribution through their excellence of skill and professionalism.

The event was studded with all the Generation NHTTI holding positions at five star hotels, motels, resorts, restaurants, airlines, travel agencies and tour operating organisation. A 12-member Ad Hoc committee was formed to create legal footings of the association titled "Generation NHTTI".

The Convener of the committee is Zamiul Ahmad Zamil. Joint Convener is Rafeuz-zaman, while Members are Bakshi Md. Tayeb, Manager Sales, Qatar Airways, Masud, CEO, Gungchill Tourism, Kamruzzan Litu, Ashikur Rahman Ayan, CEO, Akhalkur Rahman, Manager, Training NHTTI, Mujahidul Alam, HoD of TGTA department, NHTTI, Md. Kamruzzaman, Senior Training Instructor of Front Office, NHTTI, Nizam Uddin Al Sumon, Assistant Manager Sales, Hotel The Cox Today. The current Principal NHTTI and General Manager of BPC Parvez A,. Chowdhury was made the Chief Patron of the Committee.

The Generation NHTTI was launched with showering of flower petals to the Alumnis and invited guests by the present students of NHTTI in the rhythmic beat of Dhol by famous Dhuli Akkash.

Speeches by the guests, cutting of cake prepared by Generation NHTTI's brilliant Baker Bani, the owner of Bani's Creation and another one prepared by HoD of Bakery and Pastry Rekha Rani Das and Senior Training Instructor Jhorna Biswas with Symbolic design mingling with generation NHTTI and Valentine's Day celebration.
