Texas: American Airlines After Thanksgiving, next year is looking at a record summer.

The Fort Worth-based carrier will have more than 10,000 one-stop connections worldwide. DFW International Airport and increasing service to 30 domestic and international destinations next year with more than 850 daily flights from the North Texas airport. American typically operates more than 800 daily flights from DFW to more than 240 destinations and more than 25 countries.

The airline will have new service to Barcelona, Spain, and a new route to Redmond, Ore., next summer, the first daily service between DFW. Redmond will be the third nonstop destination in Oregon from Dallas-Fort Worth, following Portland International Airport and Eugene Airport. American is also adding a flight to Albany, New York

“We’re excited to offer our local and connecting customers more seats than ever in DFW next summer,” said Jim Moses, American’s senior vice president of hub operations at DFW. “Following our team’s strong operational performance this year and the airline’s continued investment in its largest hub, we are ready and excited to deliver on this robust schedule.”

The announcement comes after a busy Thanksgiving holiday for airlines across the country as set by the Transportation Security Administration. record For ridership on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Despite the carrier’s record workload, American went nine days without canceling any flights on its mainline operation from November 16-24. Between November 16 and 26, the carrier had about 6.5 million passengers.

This month, Beginning March 28, American announced two daily flights from North Texas to Tulum, Mexico for the rest of the year. The airline also added two daily flights from DFW Airport to Guatemala City, Guatemala and San Jose, Costa Rica, beginning June 5.
