Air India wins award for digital transformation

Delhi
: Air India has received the "Airline Strategy Award for Digital
Leadership" from Flight-Global, recognizing the airline's digital
transformation efforts following its return to the Tata Group in 2022.
The
award was presented to Air India CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson and
Chief Digital and Technology Officer Satya Ramaswamy at a ceremony in London
organized by FlightGlobal in partnership with Korn Ferry. Air India was the
only airline to receive the digital leadership award this year.
Since
its acquisition by the Tata Group, Air India has launched a technology-driven
modernization program aimed at improving customer experiences, streamlining
operations and building a stronger digital foundation. The airline said it
developed more than 140 enterprise systems within about two years, compared
with the industry average of more than a decade for transformations of similar
scale.
The
airline has also introduced upgraded digital platforms, including mobile apps,
a generative AI virtual assistant, improved inflight entertainment systems and
data-driven operational tools. Air India's mobile apps have been downloaded 17
million times and maintain a 4.8-star rating on major app stores in India.
The
airline said its digital initiatives also supported the integration of Air
India and Vistara, combining more than 10 million loyalty members, 300
aircraft, and 30,000 employees in less than a year.
