Chinese cancer hospital highlights advanced treatment options in Dhaka

Dhaka: Guangzhou Concord Cancer Center, a China-based cancer specialty hospital, highlighted its advanced cancer treatment facilities, including proton therapy, at a press conference in the capital on August 9.

The event was organized to provide Bangladeshi patients with information about modern cancer treatment technologies and services available to international patients.

Iwan, Deputy Director of International Medical Services at Guangzhou Concord Cancer Center, and Stephanie, Deputy Director of the hospital’s Nursing Services Department, briefed Bangladeshi journalists on the hospital’s treatment facilities and technologies.

The hospital offers a range of cancer treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, advanced radiation therapy and proton therapy.

According to the hospital representatives, its Proton Therapy Center uses the Varian ProBeam Proton Therapy System and is the only facility of its kind in southern China. Proton therapy is an advanced form of radiation treatment that can target tumors with high precision while potentially reducing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.

The hospital also maintains international collaborations with leading US medical institutions, including MD Anderson Cancer Center and Mayo Clinic.

To facilitate access for Bangladeshi patients, Seok Healthcare serves as the hospital’s exclusive marketing partner and information center in Bangladesh. Patients can receive assistance with treatment planning, estimated costs, teleconsultations, doctor appointments and medical visa support at no charge.

The hospital has also introduced services for Muslim and Bangladeshi patients, including halal food, a halal kitchen, prayer facilities and Bengali-language interpreter support.
