Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to proceed as scheduled in December

Dhaka: Formula One has confirmed the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will go ahead as scheduled in December, closing out the 2026 season at Yas Marina Circuit.

Formula One President and CEO Stefano Domenicali reaffirmed that the calendar remains unchanged, with preparations on track for the December 3-6 event.

He said the calendar stood confirmed, noting a few tickets were still available in Abu Dhabi, and that organizers remained focused on delivering the season as originally planned.

The confirmation puts an end to weeks of uncertainty surrounding the season finale amid the regional conflict.

On July 29, Domenicali had said races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi were confirmed, while adding that Formula One was monitoring how the situation would unfold, leaving open the possibility of concluding the season in Europe if the two Gulf races could not proceed.

With the race now confirmed, fans can move ahead with travel and accommodation plans for the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, once again serving as the season closer.

Abu Dhabi's race week lineup includes track action at Yas Marina Circuit, concerts at Etihad Live, and a range of entertainment and hospitality events across Yas Island.

Organizers said ticket availability for the event is now limited, with many returning attendees and new fans already having secured their spots for this year's finale.

Fans looking for remaining ticket options have been directed to the official Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix website, with additional announcements on after-race concert performers and new race experiences expected closer to the event.

Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said the race continues to create opportunities across the emirate's tourism, hospitality, and events sectors.

He noted that hosting Formula 1 since 2009 reflects the emirate's ambition to bring the world together through major international events and experiences.

Al Hosani added that officials look forward to welcoming international F1 fans once more for the conclusion of what has been a thrilling season.
