Malaysia Healthcare Week 2026 opens in Dhaka focusing medical tourism

Dhaka: Malaysia Healthcare Week 2026 opened in Dhaka on September 16 with a corporate networking dinner aimed at strengthening healthcare and medical tourism ties between Malaysia and Bangladesh.

Hosted by the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), with support from local partner Irving Aviation Limited, the event at Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel brought together Malaysian healthcare providers, diplomats, healthcare professionals, business leaders and travel industry representatives.

Muhammad Hizami Aizat Che Harun, Head of Developmental Market at MHTC, outlined Malaysia’s healthcare services and efforts to improve connectivity with Bangladesh’s healthcare market.

Five Malaysian providers presented their specialized services at the event: Alpha IVF and Women’s Specialists, KPJ Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital, IHH Healthcare Malaysia, KL Fertility and Gynecology Centre and Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City Kuala Lumpur.

The program was attended by Shoave Rahman, Director of Irving Group; Mohammad Moin Uddin Hayat, General Manager of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation; and Md Anwar Shahid, President of the Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The healthcare week will continue with a Malaysia Healthcare Pavilion at the Asian Tourism Fair Dhaka from September 17 to 19. The delegation will also visit Chattogram to meet local doctors, healthcare professionals and potential business partners.
