Mutasim Billah Faruqui appointed Bangladesh Tourism Board CEO


Dhaka: Barrister Mutasim Billah Faruqui, Member
(current charge) of the Legal and Enforcement Wing of the National Board of
Revenue (NBR), has been transferred and appointed as the Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) of the Bangladesh Tourism Board.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a
circular on August 30 announcing the appointment. Faruqui will serve as CEO of
the tourism board under the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, with the
order taking effect immediately.
Faruqui was serving as a member of the NBR’s Legal and
Enforcement Wing in an acting capacity before the transfer.
The Bangladesh Tourism Board is the country’s national
tourism organization responsible for promoting Bangladesh as a tourism
destination and supporting the development of the sector.
