RT-PCR testing facility at Dhaka airport from Sept 25: Health Minister

Dhaka: RT-PCR testing facility for detecting Covid-19 would start from September 25 at Dhaka airport, once the labs are completely installed by September 23 evening, said Health Minister Zahid Maleque.

He made the announcement after an inspection for setting up testing labs at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on September 23.

The provision for RT-PCR testing for Covid-19 will be available to air passengers from September 23, he added.

A number of laboratory machineries have already arrived at Dhaka airport and concerned officials are working tirelessly to set up the labs as soon as possible, the health minister claimed.

The minister further said that 12 testing machines will be set up in six labs where 3,500-4,000 passengers can be tested per day.
