Westin Dhaka launches quality enhancement initiative

Dhaka
: The Westin Dhaka has launched a comprehensive quality enhancement initiative
aimed at upgrading its facilities, strengthening maintenance standards, and
enhancing the overall guest experience as competition in Bangladesh's luxury
hospitality sector intensifies.
Led
by General Manager Gary Farstad, the initiative focuses on preventive
maintenance, refurbishment of guest rooms and public areas, engineering
improvements, and operational efficiency. Upgrades are being carried out across
guestrooms, food and beverage outlets, lighting systems, mechanical equipment,
and other guest-facing facilities.
The
hotel has also strengthened coordination among its Engineering, Housekeeping,
Rooms, and Food and Beverage teams to improve maintenance response times and
service delivery, while introducing enhanced inspection routines and regular
quality audits.
As
part of the program, The Westin Dhaka has rolled out its "Quality First
365" initiative, featuring daily room inspections, weekly quality audits,
and monthly preventive maintenance scorecards. Additional measures include soft
refurbishment of guestrooms, upgrades to mattresses, linens, bathroom fixtures,
and in-room technology, as well as expanded staff training aligned with
Marriott International's global service standards.
The
hotel is also emphasizing sustainability through reduced single-use plastics,
energy-efficient lighting, water-saving measures, and sustainable procurement
practices. A digital monitoring system has been introduced to track guest
feedback and online reviews, enabling faster issue resolution.
