Dhaka: The Government of Bangladesh is all set to inaugurate its Covid-19 vaccination drive this afternoon. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will virtually inaugurate the country's pilot Covid-19 vaccination program at Kurmitola General Hospital.
The event will start with the vaccination of a nurse of Kurmitola hospital. Runu Beronica Costa, a senior nurse of the hospital, will get the first shot of the vaccine on the auspicious occasion.
Of the South Asian countries, Bangladesh at the moment has the highest number of vaccines at hand -- 70 lac doses -- after India.
Covid-19 has already claimed more than 8,000 lives in the country and over 2.14 million in the world.
