China eases visa process for Bangladeshi visitors to 140th Canton Fair

Dhaka: The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka has announced simplified visa arrangements for Bangladeshi businesspeople planning to attend the 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), making the official fair invitation letter the only mandatory document for visa applications.

The 140th Canton Fair will be held in three phases in Guangzhou from October 15 to November 4, 2026.

According to a notice issued by the embassy, applicants seeking a visa for the fair will only need to submit the official invitation letter issued for the 140th Canton Fair. However, they are encouraged to upload supporting documents, such as previous Chinese visas, travel records, and a company guarantee letter, along with the online visa application to facilitate processing.

The embassy urged applicants to complete the online visa application form carefully and accurately, warning that incomplete or incorrect information would result in applications being returned, potentially causing delays and disrupting travel plans.

It also warned against submitting forged invitation letters or false information, saying such actions could lead to visa refusal and negatively affect future visa applications. Applicants were advised not to rely on third parties or agencies to complete visa application forms on their behalf.

The embassy clarified that it has not authorized any agency or individual to provide visa services. It said all decisions regarding visa category, validity, duration of stay, and number of entries would be made solely by the embassy based on relevant regulations and each applicant's circumstances.

The notice also cautioned applicants against fraudulent claims such as "guaranteed visa," "no visa, no fee," "inside connections" or "special channels."

Reaffirming its commitment to transparent and efficient visa services, the embassy said locally employed staff are strictly prohibited from attempting to influence visa decisions or guaranteeing visa issuance for personal gain, adding that any violations would face disciplinary action.

The embassy invited the public to report irregularities through its official complaint channels.
