Dhaka: The government today announced that all domestic flight services across Bangladesh will be suspended from July 1-7 amid the strict lockdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
However, international flights will continue and passengers will be able to reach the airport amid the lockdown by showing air tickets to the administrative authorities on the road.
The government today issued a circular stating all the directives to be strictly maintained amid the weeklong lockdown. Any violation will result in severe punishment.
Bangladesh Army, BGB, and Police will be deployed on the roads across the country to ensure the proper effectiveness of the lockdown. There will be no movement past this time. And no one is to get out of his/her house unless utmost emergency.
Only emergency services will continue to be in operation amid the lockdown.
The circular stated all public and private offices, public and private transport, shopping mall, and tourist spots will be closed.
However, general stores and local markets will remain open from 9 am to 5 pm.
Restaurants will also remain closed for dining. But takeaway and online services will run from 8 am to 8 pm.
