A total of 27 ministry officials took part in the five-day course, which was organized by the academy. Sessions were conducted on September 18-19, September 25-26, and October 2.
The program aimed to give ministry officials a basic yet comprehensive understanding of civil aviation. Topics included civil aviation policy and procedure, flight safety and regulation, aviation security, and air transport economy. Participants were also briefed on the functions of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and related international obligations.
As part of the training, the officials visited the Third Terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the Air Traffic Management Centre (ATMC), the apron, and the fire station to observe airport operations firsthand.
CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md. Mostafa Mahmood Siddiq attended the ceremony as chief guest. Ministry Joint Secretary Md. Zulkar Nayan was also present, along with several CAAB members, the chief engineer, and other officials.
In his address, Siddiq said a shared and integrated understanding of civil aviation would strengthen coordination between the ministry and CAAB while also playing an important role in developing the country's aviation sector.
Speaking on behalf of the trainees, Ministry Deputy Secretary Md. Mahabub Alam said the course provided practical and comprehensive knowledge of various aspects of civil aviation. He noted that the training would help them discharge their responsibilities more effectively and contribute to the sector's growth.
Civil Aviation Academy Director Prashanta Kumar Chakraborty said the training would enhance the knowledge and professional capacity of the officials. He said it would enable them to play a more effective role in advancing Bangladesh's civil aviation sector in line with ICAO's Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
