FedEx begins nonstop 777 service between Guangzhou, Sydney

Dhaka: FedEx has launched a five-times-weekly nonstop Boeing 777 freighter service between its Asia-Pacific hub at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in China and Sydney Airport in Australia.

The service aims to strengthen trade connectivity into Australia from key Asian markets, including southern mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.

FedEx said the new route will give shippers in Asia and Australia added capacity for heavyweight and high-value cargo, along with faster speed-to-market.

FedEx Asia Pacific President Salil Chari said competitive advantage today is defined by network strength and reliability, adding that the move deepens the carrier's intra-Asia connections and supports more resilient, sustainable supply chains.

The Guangzhou-Sydney launch is part of FedEx's broader push to expand its Asian network.

Last year, the airline started Boeing 767 freighter flights between Guangzhou and Penang International Airport in Malaysia, also operating five times weekly.

Additionally, it added five weekly 767 freighter flights linking Guangzhou with Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The carrier has also begun a weekly flight connecting Incheon International Airport in South Korea, Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, Vietnam, and Guangzhou, further expanding its regional freight network across key Asian trade hubs.
