Saudi Airport disruptions hit 62 Dhaka flights, affect 9,700 passengers

Data from CAAB’s ASM
Flight Management, updated at 1:15 p.m. on October 13, showed that 23 direct
flights and 39 transit flights had been disrupted. The total includes upcoming
services affected by announced suspensions.
Among direct services,
Biman Bangladesh Airlines reported nine affected flights, while US-Bangla
Airlines had two. Saudi carriers Saudia and Riyadh Air recorded five and seven
affected flights, respectively.
Transit connections were
also hit. IndiGo accounted for 16 affected flights, followed by Emirates with
nine. Qatar Airways and flydubai each had five affected services, while
SalamAir had three and EgyptAir had one.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines
suspended Dhaka-Riyadh flights through October 17 after King Khalid
International Airport was closed. US-Bangla Airlines extended its suspension of
all Dhaka-Riyadh-Dhaka services through October 21 amid repeated attacks and
the airport closure.
The disruptions are
creating uncertainty for travelers heading to Saudi Arabia and passengers
connecting through regional hubs. Travelers are advised to check directly with
their airlines for updated schedules before leaving for the airport.
