Bumrungrad expects 20-30pc growth in medical traveller numbers in 2023
Chattogram : Bumrungrad, one of the most renowned hospitals in Thailand and Southeast Asia has its presence in Bangladesh for over 20 years. Currently, it has five referral centres in Bangladesh while four is located in the capital Dhaka and another in the port city Chattogram. Soon two more referral centres will be established in Sylhet and Cox'sBazar respectively.
This year, the hospital participated in the 13th Chittagong Travel Mart, held from January 5-7. Ana May Diel, Manager, International Business Marketing of Bumrungrad represented the hospital in the fair.
It may be mentioned here that Bumrungrad participated in the fair's previous edition in 2022 as well.
Ana May Diel was happy with the outcome of participating in the 13th edition of the fair this year and said that in the last one year, the hospital had received 30,000 patients from Bangladesh. In total, it served 1.1 million patients from over 190 countries, including Bangladesh.
She further added, the hospital expects a growth in medical tourist numbers by 20-30 per cent in 2023.
Bumrungrad works jointly with its sister companies VitalLife Scientific Wellness Centre and Esprence, the integrative Cancer Clinic for an improved and better life.
This multidiscipline centre of excellence is serving patients for the last 42 years and it is the first JCI accredited Hospital in Southeast Asia, said Ana May, adding, it always adapts the latest advance technology for medical purposes.
The hospital deals with spine cancer, complicated heart cases, like heart transplant and also organ transplantation for kidney and liver.
The hospital has adopted new technology for more accurate diagnosis. The Pharmaco Genetic Testing is an advanced technology which helpsto providepatients with accurate treatment.
The two newly built centres, VitalLife helps in guiding patients for a better life and Esperence is a Centre of Hope for cancer patients to prevent cancer and improve their quality of life.
