MTB, CDBL sign deal to expand API-based digital cash management

Under the agreement, CDBL
will use MTB’s cash management platform to manage receivables and payables
through MTB eBank. The arrangement is designed to allow online collections and
payments while streamlining transaction processing between the two
organizations.
MTB said transaction
approvals can also be completed remotely through biometric authentication using
its eBank mobile application. The bank described the feature as the first of
its kind in Bangladesh’s banking industry.
The agreement was signed
at MTB Centre in Gulshan, Dhaka, in the presence of Syed Mahbubur Rahman,
managing director and CEO of MTB, and Md. Abdul Mutaleb, managing director and
CEO of CDBL.
Senior executives from
both organizations attended the signing ceremony, including MTB’s additional
managing director and chief business officer Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, along with
officials overseeing treasury, wholesale banking, branch banking and cash
management.
CDBL representatives
included Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary Mohammad Shahidul Islam
and senior officials from its inspection, compliance, legal, application
development and finance functions.
The partnership is expected to strengthen digital transaction management for CDBL by combining API-based connectivity with MTB’s online banking and authentication capabilities.
