MTB elects Elahi as Chairman, Chowdhury as Vice Chairman

Dhaka : Syed Manzur Elahi Founding Chairman of MTB and Pioneer Insurance Company Limited has been elected as the Chairman of Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB). The decision was taken at the 314th meeting of the Board of Directors of the bank held on December 26, 2024.

He was appointed Adviser to the Caretaker Government of Bangladesh twice in 1996 and 2001.

He is the Chairman of Apex Group. He is also the Chairman of Grey Advertising (Bangla-desh) Ltd, Quantum Consumer Solutions Ltd, Manusher Jonno Foundation, Sunbeams School Ltd.

He served as the Vice Chairman of the bank and Chairman of the Board Executive Committee for the last two years successfully.

On the other hand, Rashed Ahmed Chowdhury has been elected as the Vice Chairman of MTB.

Prior to assuming this role, he was the Chairman of the Board Risk Management Committee of the Bank.

He is the Chairman of ABC Building Products Limited, Director of Associated Builders Corporation Ltd (ABC) and ABC Real Estate Ltd.

He is a Founder Trustee and former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). He is the Founding member and past President of Cadet College Club Limited, Member of the Management Committee of Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital (IIEI&H), and Member of the Board of Trustees of the Corporate Social Responsi-bility (CSR) Centre.
