Nepal Embassy honors Bangladeshi mountaineer Nurunnaher Nimni for Everest ascent


Dhaka: The Embassy of Nepal in Bangladesh has honored Bangladeshi mountaineer Nurunnaher Nimni for her successful ascent of Mount Everest, describing the achievement as a milestone that can further strengthen people-to-people ties between Nepal and Bangladesh.
According to a social post shared by the embassy on June 12, Deputy Chief of Mission Lalita Silwal attended a flag-in ceremony organized by the Bangladesh Mountaineering and Trekking Club (BMTC) to celebrate Nimni's successful summit of the world's highest peak on May 27.
Nimni became the third Bangladeshi woman to scale Mount Everest, marking another significant achievement for the country's growing mountaineering community.
Addressing the event, Silwal congratulated the climber on her remarkable accomplishment and praised her determination and resilience.
She also observed that enthusiasm for mountaineering has been steadily increasing among Bangladeshi youth in recent years and noted that mountaineers and trekkers play an important role in fostering closer people-to-people connections between Nepal and Bangladesh.
The flag-in ceremony was organized by the Bangladesh Mountaineering and Trekking Club to recognize Nimni's achievement and celebrate her contribution to Bangladesh's adventure sports community.
