Star Alliance named best airline alliance in Asia-Pacific

Established in 1997 as
the world’s first global airline alliance, Star Alliance brings together 26
member airlines, providing travelers with connections across a broad range of
destinations, particularly throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Its frequent flyer
benefits vary by membership tier. Silver status offers priority waitlist and
standby services, while Gold members receive additional privileges, including
airport lounge access, priority boarding, extra baggage allowances and priority
baggage handling across the alliance network.
For passengers
transferring between member airlines, Star Alliance Connection Centres help
coordinate connecting journeys. Staff can monitor eligible transfers and assist
with arrangements such as gate changes when necessary, helping passengers
manage tight connections.
The alliance is also
expanding its airport lounge presence. A newly established Star
Alliance-branded lounge in Guangzhou adds another option for eligible
travelers, while a further lounge is planned for Seoul.
The addition of ITA
Airways to the alliance is also expected to broaden travel options for members,
strengthening connectivity across participating airlines.
