Thailand to enforce proof of funds rules from June 9

Dhaka: Thailand's Immigration Authority is
implementing new proof of funds requirements for foreign travelers, effective
June 9.
Under the new guidelines, travelers entering on
a visa exemption, transit visa, or visa on arrival must carry at least THB
10,000 per person or THB 20,000 per family.
Those traveling on a tourist or non-immigrant
visa are required to carry THB 20,000 per person or THB 40,000 per family.
Immigration officers may request travelers to
present cash or acceptable proof of financial capacity upon entry.
Authorities recommend carrying sufficient funds
or relevant documentation to ensure a hassle-free arrival.
They advised visitors to review the latest
regulations before traveling to Thailand.
