Drukair increases Singapore–Bhutan flights

Dhaka: Travel to Bhutan is set to become more accessible as Drukair – Royal Bhutan Airlines increases its services between Singapore Changi Airport and Paro International Airport.

The expanded schedule, which adds a third weekly flight, is expected to improve connectivity for long-haul travelers, particularly from North America and the South Pacific. Bhutan travel specialist Druk Asia believes the move will help attract more international tourists while also benefiting the Bhutanese diaspora, especially those living in Australia.

Tourism demand from Western markets has been rising steadily. Visitor numbers from the United States grew by around 20 percent in 2025, while arrivals from Canada increased by over 20 percent. Singapore has emerged as a key transit hub for these travelers, offering convenient one-stop connections from major North American cities.

With the additional flights, travelers will have greater flexibility to explore Bhutan’s key destinations, including Paro, Thimphu, and Punakha, as well as spend more time attending the country’s renowned cultural festivals.

Under the updated schedule, flights between Singapore and Paro will operate multiple times a week, with slight adjustments planned from mid-May 2026 to better align with seasonal demand.
