Seok Healthcare sees rising demand for overseas treatment especially in China

Dhaka
: Seok Healthcare is reporting steady growth in outbound medical travel from
Bangladesh, with China emerging as a major destination for patients seeking
advanced treatment following improvements in services tailored to Bangladeshi
travelers.
Talking
to The Bangladesh Monitor, MM Masumuzza-man, Founder and CEO of Seok
Healthcare, said, the company has been facilitating overseas medical treatment
since 2012, initially focusing on Thailand before expanding to India in 2016
and China in 2025.
China
gains momentum
Masumuzzaman
was part of a Bangladeshi delegation invited to visit Chinese hospitals in
March 2025 to help improve services for international patients. Based on
recommendations from the delegation, several Chinese hospitals have introduced
bilingual support staff, halal food options, prayer facilities, escort services
for patients navigating large hospital campuses, and recruited Bangladeshi
students studying in China as interpreters.
"We
recommended several practical measures to make Bangladeshi patients feel more
comfortable, and it is encouraging that many have already been
implemented," he said.
Demand
shifts toward advanced treatment
Seok
primarily assists patients requiring treatments that remain limited in
Bangladesh, including cancer care, neurosurgery, and complex orthopedic
procedures.
While
India remains the largest destination for Bangladeshi medical travelers
overall, Masumuzzaman said, China's lower treatment costs and improving patient
services have helped it overtake Thailand among Seok's clients. The company has
recorded annual patient growth of 10 to 20 percent.
End-to-end
patient support
Seok
provides comprehensive medical travel services, from reviewing medical records
and coordinating treatment plans with overseas hospitals to arranging visas,
flights, accommodation, airport transfers, and on-site language support.
The
company's in-house medical team also helps patients select hospitals best
suited to their conditions.
Follow-up
care in Bangladesh
To
ensure continuity of care after patients return home, Seok operates Apon
Healthcare, where returning patients can receive follow-up consultations and
diagnostic services at comparatively affordable rates.
